If it will power a Pocket Rocket modem, yes I am very interested,
as it would free up my multi-purpose transformer, and allow me more
flexibility with who gets what modem. The Netcom power supply I have
says "Netcom, extra low voltage adaptor, input 240V AC 50Hz only,
output 12V DC 300mA, Energy Authority Approval = N10635,
CAT = AC-041-1230D, Made in Taiwan". It also has "fucked" written
on the side, but I put that there, not Netcom.
Would you like to swap it for 5, yes, you heard it right, FIVE
of these funny little cables that on one side is a 25-pin D
connecter (male) and on the other side is a 26-pin connecter
that looks like it's designed to plug into the floppy disk
connector on an IDE controller card. Presumably there are
people in this world who don't know that you can't plug your
modem into your floppy disk controller, and go to the shop to
demand one of these cables. I bet that they're pretty rare,
so you could find yourself cornering the market with these
FIVE connectors.
But wait, that's not all! I know you're interested in something
electrical in return right? Well my wife did something incredibly
stupid and bought a rice cooker from Hong Kong, instead of paying
the extra $2 to get one here. And we had to pay the extra $2
anyway to get a proper power connector. The end result is that I
now have a hong kong power connector, with two round things at
the top and one humungous earth at the bottom. I know that you're
a jetsetting kinda guy, so here's your chance to take the Hong
Kong market in style.
Crikey, I've just realised that if you got a little bit of wire,
and connected this electrical plug to the D25 connector, you
could even use it to blow up an IDE controller card! Impress
your friends! Annoy your enemies!
So do we have a deal? BFN. Paul.
