 HS> -!- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.1b
TB> Hmmpf. Some support. I never could see how you could support
TB> Maximus by running Wildcat... ^_^
All the Silver Xpress doors, except Maximus, were updated quite a while ago.
At that time (About August/95), there was a promise of a updated Xpress door
for Max3 "as soon as Platinum Xpress was released". It didn't come. (Again,
all doors except Maximus were already updated)
Then came PX for windows, and still no Max door. Then, if everyone recalls,
there was the "Tell us you want one" campaign about a year ago (Which I
personally posted here, and asked everyone to reply to Hector about), and
then more talk that it was coming "soon".
I've consistantly questioned Hector as to when the door for us would be
forthcoming, and it's always been after something else gets finished. (He
has also used the excuse that Maximus sysops only want things for free as a
way out of doing the door... I guess Maximus sysops are somehow "cheaper"
than sysops of other BBS software. )
Hector recently asked me for some help with the Max3 compatible door, and I
went to Scott to get the answers that Hector wanted. (Scott can confirm
this) So, I've obviously done what I can to help get a door for us.
So, we're waited over two years for an updated door, but now Hector wants to
blame me for not doing one. Oh well. That's his decision.
I have no problem with him doing his mailer program for Wildcat... I simply
pressured him to either tell us to stop waiting (ie: he's not going to do
one) or to get it into our hands, even if it was only a simple hack to allow
Xpress to work with our Max3 setups. Every other door got an upgrade, I
can't see why we were treated differently.
