I have this file here that seems to take care of that:
idedasd.zip 53564 14-Aug-97 13:39 [ ] IDE Drivers supporting >4.3G
ives
From the readme.txt inside it:
This readme file contains information on how to modify the OS/2 boot
diskettes and install the IDE Hard File Drivers supporting >4.3 GB Files.
(Files? I think they mean _drives_ there...)
And:
1.0 Description of large hard file problem that this package fixes
------------------------------------------------------------------
The advent of larger Enhanced IDE drives greater than 4.3 Gig has caused
a problem with being able to install to these drives and FDISK reporting
erroneous information. If your system BIOS has the ability to properly
remap the parameters of these larger drives you can use new versions of
IBM1S506.ADD and IBMIDECD.FLT, contained in this package, to support
these new drives.
2.0 System Requirements
-----------------------
These package supports Warp 3 and Warp 4 versions only.

I guess I'm going to find out how well this works, shortly... :-)
