Thanks for the history lesson about DOS. What you wrote agrees in
broad outline with what I've been reading in a couple of books
over the last week or so.
One Geos related question. How come none of the standard histories
that I'm reading even mention Geos? They go into great detail
about GEM, Topview, Viewmax, DESQ, Desqview and various other
windowing environments designed to run on top of DOS that were in
competition with Windows during the 1980's but there is no
mention of Geos anywhere. Were they just out of it from the
begining or what?
When was Geoworks introduced ?  And did it ever have a shot at
being sucessful?
