FLYTYING!!!!!! The best way to get started is going out and get a book.
The first recommendation would be Dick Stewarts book Fly Tying. Its a
really good book, and is set up for a beginner. I wouldn't start tying
until I have gone thru a book or two. Dicks book covers materials,
hooks, tools, and has a good selection of patterns to start with. The
reason I say this is cause, experience has shown me that inexpensive
materials, and tools really aren't worth it. Flytying can get a little
pr icy when buying good stuff, but the cost over buying flies is well
worth it. Thats not including joys of tying.. There is no substitute
for getting wet and catching a really nice fish on a fly you've just
tied up. It has its own rewards. If there is interest in the echo I
would be more than glad to post a weekly "Pattern Of The Week." So just
let me know. Oh another choice for beginners is take a fly tying class,
but I still wouldn't do it without reading Dicks book....let me know
if you would like a pattern posted....TKS RUSS.....
