If it is caught early enough the pancreas can be removed and one
goes on insulin. Having said that, the survival rate is a mere 8%.

My late sister-in-law had it, was operated on and lost part of her
liver at the same time. She survived that but did succumb to other
cancers a little more than two years later as it had already spread
prior to the operation.
