I don't have my mom's recipe but I have collected several so I'm
confident I can look at them all and sense which one I want to follow.
If I wanted the best ever old fashioned recipe I'd go after the
one our elderly neighbour down the road from us used when I was a
child. Although maybe she just grew superior tomatoes! They raised
turkeys so turkey manure was involved.
