Did you see the last couple of movies with the TOS crew? very close analogies
to the "Soviet" existance... including Siberia. It was Mike Dorn that added
the Japanese style influences to the Klingons.
The Director of the last Movie with the TOS cast acknowledged his allusions
to the Soviets.
