Hi Errol,

Sorry about the delay in returning mail, but Talisman is not receiving 64Talk
as yet (It's still going through some problems with the new version of
Xenolink) so I've had to call GeOZ to read your mail. I should be a point of
a FidoNET Node soon so these problems will not be present for much longer.

Anyway,

ES> Yeah, every 16 rasters (or 2 char rows). He changes fonts,
ES> multicol modes, ecm modes, back/forground colours etc.

Won't this cause problems if he tries to scroll it (I'm assuming it's a
Yscroll). Also what if he wants to have text on the first line (8 rasters)
and a Logo right underneath it?

ES> It just uses the $d415 volume register, but the NMI

Shouldn't that be $d418? :)

Is there any way to use the filter output as a sample player? (Related to the
Pulse wave player) Possible 8-bit samples, though my logic may be wrong.

ES> Yeah, I understand the first bit, bit getting decent sounds
ES> escapes me. I think most players change waveform in the
ES> middle of the sound to create different waveforms & sounds.

Any REAL player (ie:one that has decent sounds) updates the waveform output
every raster call... most also change the transpose value as well.

It usually runs in a loop ie:

WV = Waveform, TR = Transpose value

   WV TR
   81 30
   11 00<-|
   11 03 |
   11 07 |
xx xx -| a control byte, preferably something harmless.

Every raster call the new waveform and transpose value is used with the
current pitch of the sound... This particular sound will start with a "CHK"
sound (equivelent to a cymbal being hit, sortof) and will then do a fast
arpeggio between the base note, the base note + 3, and the BN +7. This gives
the effect (sortof) like playing a minor chord.

Tarragon / Menace.
