fte is an extremely nice, free text-mode text editor, that has editing
modes for raw text (great auto-word re-wrapping), c, perl, html, blah
blah blah, multiple documents, redefinable keys, column and row
copy/paste features, blah blah blah, lots of great stuff.

I find it immensely faster, easier, and more functional than any PM
based editor I've ever used.
