DD> Title: Orange Juice Goji Berries Smoothie

For 20 years goji berries and juice have been promoted as a super
food and even as a cancer cure by unscrupulous alternative medicine
hucksters and health food and supplement sellers.

The scam was started by a self styled nutritionist and multi level
marketing guy by the name of Earl Mindel. Of course numerous others
jumped on the band wagon. Years ago Mindel was completely exposed by
the CBC Market Place TV show which is a top notch investigative
consumer program.

He ran a MLM sales company called FreeLife International Inc.

He has a Ph.D. from Pacific Western University in Hawaii which is
completely unaccredited and was run out of business by the State of
Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection.

He talks about a fictitious Chinese man who ate goji berries daily and
lived to be 256 years old. He also claims that it prevents and cures
cancer "75% of the time".

He also promotes other quack products and homeopathy.

He's been stomped on by your FDA and my CFIA while his company has
been sued over and over again. FreeLife International is an American
multi-level marketing company that also sold nutritional
supplements, shampoo and other personal care products. It's been
sued in a class action lawsuit for false claims, misrepresentations,
false and deceptive advertising.

His allegedly organic berries come from China and are loaded with
pesticides.

And just as importantly since this a food and not a medicine forum
they are extremely overpriced, like $30 a pound, and taste hideous!
You want fruit with loads of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals
that tastes good and is affordable? Stick to raisin, blueberries and
cranberries.

And remember that an apple a day ...
