subject: your Ts 520

 RW>>> TS-520 stored in a box since 1985...
RD>> Roy you wouldn't happen to have the digital VFO for the TS-520
 RD>> would you?
RW> Didn't know there was such an animal...
Roy the Ts-520 and 530 had -two- external VFO units as options.
The digital unit had a digital display and 5 or 6 memory positions for your
favourite frequencies and splits.
The analog unit is easy to find, but the digital one is a rare bird and most
I have seen have been either scrap from `finger-poking' attempts to gain
illegal freqs,or plain overpriced for the poor condition they are in.
RD>> I've been looking for one for ages to complete my TS-530
RW> My TS-520 is kinda like that. Some of the first models came with a
2vdc
RW> cable. The later versions don't have this feature.
All I need to complete mine is the monitor scope SM-220,the digital VFO unit
and the non-amplified MC-50 or MC-60 desk microphone.
I was lucky enough to find the external filtered speaker and the phone-patch
unit for the TS-520/530 line at a hamfest last year.
Three more parts and it will be a complete station.
RD>> Only ones I have found are the analog VFO's and most were in
RD>> very poor next to destroyed condition. Any ideas where I might
RW> No idea, but building your own shouldn't be that complicated. Buy one
f
RW> those analog VFO's and convert it to digital. Without looking, I'd say
you
RW> could use an AD converter and drive a digital display with the output.
I'd build one,but I am really trying to complete this HF set-up as it was my
first rig and I'd like to find all the original TS-530-S options I can for
t.
Guess I'll keep hunting through hamfests and hope to find what I need.
