Yoo Hoo, Jennifer!
On May 18th '97 you wrote to John Boyer:

OK, the thing you have to think is "kids off from school=a chance for
parents to take extra time off from work=vacation time". Vacation
does not necessarily mean going to Grandma's for the traditional
holiday dinner and then cruising shopping malls on the busiest shopping
day of the year. Some people take the opportunity to really travel.
Look in the guidebook "The Unofficial Guide to WDW" by Bob Sehlinger.
Towards the front he has a chart describing when the peak times are
at Disney theme parks, and Thanksgiving week/weekend is right up there
among the most crowded times. The tourist areas of Orlando are
jumping due to all the people in town to visit the theme parks. It
might be a ghost town where you live, but not in Orlando.
