It IS actually possible to do a FREQ without a nodelist, although how EASY a task it is to achieve depends solely on your mailer. On mine, it's a simple case of passing it the telephone number on the command line. No nodelist. I certainly concede it's not as elegant as having a nodelist, but for someone only rarely needing to freq or crashmail it makes better sense than having a rather large and quickly outdated nodelist sitting on the HD. >> the need to Freq, so am not qualified to comment. There's still no need to await verification from the sysop nor is there a lengthy log on procedure. Online editing isn't really a serious option for a moderate to heavy mail user, and with QWK mailers one must still go through the procedure of logging onto the board, and there are regular problems with last read pointers not being updated etc. Cheers, OJ. ...
