SD> My mom loves the Filet-O-Fish but they're so expensive these
SD> days like everything else at McD's.
SH> True, it's not a cheap place anymore that's for sure.
Prices are going up everywhere but aren't McDonald's and Taco Bell
still the two cheapest fast food restaurants around? I actually have
no idea as I don't eat out often and don't have as many options as
most oF you do.
For those of you who care I found this guide to the best bargains at
the cheapest places:

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
Title: Mcdonald's Filet-O-Fish
Categories: Copycat, Sandwiches, Fish
Yield: 2 Sandwiches
2 tb Mayonnaise
2 ts Sweet relish
2 ts Minced onion
1 pn Salt
2 Plain hamburger buns
2 Mrs. Paul's breaded-
Fish portions (square)
1 sl American cheese
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, relish, minced onion,
and salt and set aside. This is your tartar sauce. Lightly grill
the faces of the buns. Cook the fish according to the package
instructions. You can bake the fish, but your sandwich will taste
much more like the original if you fry it in oil. Divide the
tartar sauce and spread it evenly on each of the top buns. Slice
the cheese in half and place a piece on each of the bottom buns.
Place the cooked fish on top of the cheese slice on each sandwich,
and top off the sandwiches with the top buns. Microwave each
sandwich on high for 10 seconds.

Personally I'd add lemon juice and capers to the tartar sauce.
According to the corporate web site McDonald's uses capers.
I'd also skip the cheese and add some lettuce or maybe cabbage.
