I somehow knew that was going to be the reason behind the mags.
 To take it further, the mags in use, have they improoved any over the
years? Taking a look in my MSD catalog (Ya, I guess I do have a liking for
them) they have a "New" racing mag, claims that it needs no magnetic
recharging since it uses rare earth magnets, has an electronic box with rev
limiter (plug in limits, your choice, 7000, 8000 or 9000rpm) And as with
every other MSD product, spark for 26 degrees of crank rotation. 45,000 volt
coil mounted in the spark box.

Sounds like typical beurocracy. Not allowing better technology to step in
and take over.
