If security is not an issue, don't use a password at all. Just have
a user with no password and that way "login " will

Something suspicous here, if it's the same batch file it should work
either way. make sure that after the power goes out you give the
novell serve enogh timeto reboot before logging in. Put a "choice"
command in your batch file with a 20 second delay or so before it
attempts to log in.
