Oh my, that's not good as there is no standard :-( I break out good lighting, some close work glasses and look for a embossed or printed emblem on both PS and powered item. _Most_ stuff I've run into has an indicator that looks like a three quarters circle broken at one point with a line leading out of a point in the center of the circle indicating the center connection which has a + or - sign. These polarity indicators if present are *tiny*, often just a raised plastic symbol the same color as the rest of the housing. Lacking any of that I've a continuity testor I built many years ago to carry with me on the motorcycle for troubleshooting. Nothing but a 12 volt light bulb and in parallel with that crrent limited bi-color polarity sensitive LED with alligator clips on either end. --- MultiMail/PBellDOS v0.42* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:275/311) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 275/311 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
