At a recent hamfest, a Radio Shack employee of my aquaintance (I knew him 
before he went to work at the Shack. He's also a ham.) told me that the 
Pro-26 scanner I bought from him at the same hamfest last year is being 
recalled by Tandy due to a `technical compliance' problem. While not saying 
so in so many words  (CYA, y'know), it was clear that some means of opening 
up 800 Mhz coverage on this model had been found.
 
   Has anyone else heard this? Does anyone know what the mod (I have no idea 
if it's [I hope] keyboard trickery, or if one must go in and alter 
components) actually is?
