| subject: | Is Web Edition the next Bob? |
From: "Tony Ingenoso"
This part was interesting too...
"Disclosure of the results of any benchmark test of the .NET Framework
component of the Software to any third party without Microsoft
Corporation's prior written approval is prohibited"
.NET's performance must suck canal water pretty bad.
I was also perplexed by the 2-CPU limit. NT Server always supported up to
4. It appears this is in reality a (severely) legally crippled version of
the ordinary 2-CPU desktop product bundled with some internet junk. If so,
why not just do the far less restricted desktop product with Apache and its
accociated OSS internet junk?
I don't think people are as stupid as MS thinks. This thing could be another Bob.
