This is what I refer to when speccing "dried beef" -- Armour Star
Sliced Dried Beef is made with fresh beef that is dried until it takes
on a robust flavor. Each slice contains 9 calories and is 95% fat free.
Ideal for today's health-conscious people who are looking for low-fat
food. Great for your favorite recipes, serve it cold in appetizers,
sandwiches, or salads. Served hot, it adds zest to soups and casseroles.
And don't forget the great American favorite every family loves: creamed
chipped beef on toast! Armour Star Sliced Dried Beef—ready to eat,
anytime, anywhere.
A lot of that blurb is marketing hype. And it's now "ground and formed"
so, I've switched to Knaus (brand) which is still cured sliced *real*
beef. https://knaussfoods.com/
