RN> GC> On a hunch, I went back into Max and used the HURL command to throw
RN> GC> the files into another area. No problem. They moved to the new
RN> GC> directory and are now visible there from within Max.
RN>Now I'm confused. If you couldn't see the files, how then did you HURL
them
Just took the action and away they went. As I could see the files
there from everywhere except from within Max, I assumed they were
actually there. These two files were a set of four the fellow uploaded.
Two were visible and two wern't (from within Max).
RN> GC> So the question now is whether I've uncovered a Max bug or whether
RN> GC> this is one of Win95's idiocyncracies. Also, as this has happened
RN> GC> only to one caller, maybe the problem somehow lies with him?
RN>Did you check all of your upload paths? I run Max from
RN>OS/2 Warp and Win95 and have not had the problem you're
RN>talking about.
No, I didn't check that, but I've had uploads to here with no problems
before or since.
RN> GC> Any thoughts on this would be appreciated...
RN>Just remember you asked for this. (-:
And your reply is much appreciated. Not sure I mentioned it before, but
when I told the fellow that I didn't have all the files he said he'd
sent up, he re-sent them. He's the one that informed me that they got
renamed, indicating that the files already existed on my system. If it
hadn't been for that I never would have noticed the problem for a long
time, quite likely. (The resends also were invisible, BTW).
