Well, I went to DL with my folks when I was about 7.  The funny thing is
that they didn't take me into Fantasyland.  I went just about everywhere
else.  Then I went with my cousins when I was about 11 and still didn't
get into Fantasyland.  Then I went AGAIN, with my high school choir, but
STILL didn't go into Fantasyland.  Then, I went in 1993, with Kit and
spent nearly the whole trip in Fantasyland.  I loved it.  I would be
satisfied if all there was to DS was FL.
But, that's just my opinion.
BTW, the best time I had was when Kit and I took our then 12
year-old-son to DL.  He was old enough to behave without problems and
still young enough to enjoy it.
