AM> to work correctly, for example Ymodem and Xmodem 1k won't AM> work with some BBS's and Zmodem won't work at all. Is this a Hmmmmm....that don't sound too good! All I can say is that I ¨haven't had a problem with either the x-modem 1k or z-modem. I know ¨that N.Rossi's z-modem driver will only recieve....not send. It ¨could be that your parameters aren't set up...or that your ¨configuration on the BBS needs adjustment...If you'd like, I'll put ¨a config file for novaterm 9.5 on the comms menu, and you can try ¨that! AM> 2. I've heard that you can connect a hard drive to a AM> C64/128. Is this possable, and if so could you please supply AM> That's a project i've heard of before...all I can say is that I know ¨Nuuuusing at all about it! I know Lewin Edwards over at ZWBBS is ¨interested in doing the same thing. If I see or hear ¨anything...I'll get back to ya. AM> 3. When I download software from Network BBS, some of the AM> files seem to locate themselves at memory location $1c01 AM> instead of $0801, is this also a bug with my copy of AM> novaterm 9.5 and 9.4 or is is that they are stored AM> incorectly on the BBS? I noticed this to happen with AM> Novaterm 9.5 when I downloaded it and also a few other AM> proggys. AM> Ye gads! we can't have that! I can't see it being a problem from ¨this end, but it gives be a clue as to what could be going ¨wrong...from novaterm it's best to work with translation OFF on GeoZ ¨BBS...along with most C=64 support boards. If you translate a c64 ¨file...not suprisingly, it'll die a death! AM> 4. Where can I get a swiftlink cart.? I was refered to a guy hmmm...yeah they're a bit hard to get hold of secondhand as people ¨tend to hang on to 'em. Sometimes (rare!) they turn up on the ¨micro-mart pages of "Commodore Network"...but don't hang around too ¨long! NOVO are probably your best bet, as they're the official CMD ¨distibutors in Aust (PO BOX 237 Mayfield NSW 2304 ¨ph-(049)602-082. Note that there is a file kicking round that shows you how to build a similar interface based on a 6551 UART, I've got ¨it somewhere if you're interested Catch your ASCII De Vooluff --- FMail 0.96ā* Origin: GeoZ BBS - Melbourne - GeoWorks Support Site (03)8036498 (3:633/272) SEEN-BY: 50/99 54/54 623/630 632/348 998 633/104 262 272 357 371 635/503 SEEN-BY: 636/100 638/100 640/308 316 711/807 808 809 929 934 712/623 713/888 SEEN-BY: 714/906 @PATH: 633/272 262 371 635/503 50/99 54/54 711/808 809 934 |
