| subject: | Removing labels |
Hi Paul Rogers, hope you are having a nice day PR>I want to remove the labels on some floppy disks. Most already have PR>two--an original permanent one, then another one that might be more or PR>less peelable. I can imagine some different ways to facilitate the PR>process: warming the adhesive with a hair dryer, or using an organic PR>solvent--maybe paint/lacquer thinner or even nail polish remover, or PR>both. I don't know what would work best. PR>Anybody got any easy techniques? I use a small, real sharp, knife like an x-acto knife to get an edge up and then use a little bit of 93% isopropal alcohol to dissolve the glue. As the alcohol loosens it up I just keep peeling it back slowly until it comes off. If you can't find the good stuff then 70% or even 50% alcohol will work but just slower since it's got more water in it. -=> Yours sincerely, Paul Williams <=- ... "Tim Priebe!
