EP> I've never heard of anything worse than severe bruising from a

There have been cases of lacerations, contutions and other nastys of
the heart and lungs from blunt traume (Temporary cavitation). I am
refering to the cases I have seen on medical databases.
Myth: Temporary cavitation causes no damage.
Fact: Temp. cavitaion in muscle causes little damage unless magnum or
rifle bullets are involved where laceration or maciation from fibers
pulled beyond their range of motion.
Bone is a tissue. Heart is a tissue. Lung is a tissue. Liver is a
tissue, brain is a tissue. Temporary cavitation in and even near
these tissues form a permanent cavity.
The military actually proved that temporary cavitation causes damage
by firing a rifle bullet into tissue medium and having the bullet pass
near but not too close to a cat bone. The bone shattered.
I would like someone to do a test with a cows liver suspended in a
milk jug weighted down with a fishing weight and string and held
static with a line secured in the neck of the jug. I might be
nessessary to keep the liver "flat" by using straws tootpicked to the
back of the liver.
Make two of these.
Fire through one with a FMJ, and on with a fast-expanding bullet. I
am sure the results will be axiomatic.
