You're right, you caught me. However, in my own defense, I must say
I normally do chop quite a bit of a message out when I quote,
although once in a while I forget to chop up the bit that trails
after I make a comment. I do this because you're pet peeve is the
same as mine. I think there is excessive quoting in most echoes.
In this echo, the only person I have ever seen mention the subject
in the past AND now has been you. If you look back less than a week
you will even see a message from our moderator, Bill Cheek which
quotes a 15 LINE MESSAGE with a one line response. That's is about
the same ratio as my message, so I guess, I won't feel too guilty
about my slip up. But then again, up to this point, this message is
a total waste of space because it has absolutely nothing to do with
scanning.
As I recall, you are the proud owner of a PRO-51 scanner, and you
use Radio Shack and Panasonic NiCad batteries. Do you know what
power rating those batteries have. Since you get 8-11 hours out of
the Radio Shack batteries and a consistant 10 hours out of the
Panasonics, I am curious as to what difference, if any, there is
between them.
The one's I use in my Pro-39 are rated at 450 ma. I bought them at
Radio Shack. I can't vouch for their other batteries, but I am sold
on their NiCads.
I used to listen to my scanner almost 24 hours a day, but a while
back I changed jobs and my scanner picks up too much interference
from the nearby RFI so I don't bother taking it anymore. I also
turn it off when I go to sleep now, too. This limits me to about 6
hours of listening a day.
Take care,
Martin
