 Like I said I found it out by accident when I had the FT-470 and just did it
with the Alinco and the TH-79 out of habit.
 I found it also saves a bit on the battery power you use as the radio is 
only `listening' to,and producing audio from one band in the reciever instead 
of the
two bands at the same time.
