about the historical facts of Judaism and its relationship to the NT

The fact is that Matthew lies to you.  It transposes the Pharisees 
with the Saducees.  In doing so, it puts what was mainstream 
Hebrew beliefs in a bad light.  This is especially true in the 
fact that the Pharisaic ideals evolve into current Rabbinical 
traditions.  After all, one of the primary sources of anti-semitism 
is the xian bible.  Even Hitler used it to justify the Holocaust.
