Hi, Paul.

PE> PE> It wasn't stray.

PE> FM> As I recall this was a day late in the week, say Saturday, and I got
PE> FM> something like TH1, FR0, SA0 - and the MO1. It was also just after that
PE> FM> discussion on those old files on your system, so I thought you might
PE> FM> have sent it to me, as I had suggested. Are there still any stray
PE> FM> 0000ffe8 files on your system, which might be my missing mail?

PE> The volume label in drive C is HARDDISK C.
PE> The Volume Serial Number is 053A:16FC
PE> Directory of C:\BINKLEY\OUTBOUND\02C703A6.PNT

[file list chomped. nothing in there of mine, except...]

PE> 0000FFE8 FR1 16958 7-07-95 7:35

... which would have been the mail for that day.

PE> PE> FM> that you specially attached for me? If so thanks. Was that all
PE> there
PE> PE> FM> was?

PE> PE> I didn't do anything. Keep a log (telix allows you to keep a log)
PE> PE> and quote something strange and small and I'll answer the technical
PE> PE> query so you can understand it. BFN. Paul.

PE> FM> I haven't been keeping a log because until now there's been no need to.
PE> FM> I'm not sure that this is sufficient need, either, it was just that I
PE> FM> noticed this one as the download was downloading, and thought you must
PE> FM> have sent it as a result of that discussion.

PE> If you want to investigate an anomoly, the first step is to look
PE> in your own log to make sure you really believe there is something
PE> illogical happening, rather than just arm-waving. If you can quote
PE> a log with an anomaly in it, I'll probably be able to explain it.

Sure. This was an observed anomaly, which I have no evidence to support.
I'd rather not keep a log unless there's a problem which we might want
to track down. BTW I'm still saving all inbound packets waiting for the
problem with PKT2QWK to reappear and guess what - it hasn't. However
there's been at least a couple of new version since then so perhaps it's
fixed. Maybe I'll stop saving the inbound.

Regards, FIM.
