NASA ANNOUNCES SPACE STATION UPDATE & SPACEWALK PREVIEW

     The progress of the sixth expedition to the 
International Space Station and the next spacewalk (EVA) 
will be discussed during a Mission Status Briefing on 
Monday, April 7 at the Johnson Space Center (JSC), Houston, 
at 11:00 a.m. (CDT); noon EDT. 

Officials will update the Expedition Six activities of 
Commander Ken Bowersox, Flight Engineer Nikolai Budarin and 
NASA Space Station Science Officer Don Pettit. The crew is 
in the fifth month of their mission. They are due to return 
to Earth in May on the Soyuz vehicle currently docked to the 
Station.

The briefing will be broadcast on NASA Television with 
question-and-answer capability for reporters at various NASA 
centers. The briefing will also cover the planned April 8 
EVA by Bowersox and Pettit, who will continue the external 
outfitting of the Station.

Coverage of Tuesday's EVA will begin at 7 a.m. EDT on NASA 
TV. The EVA is expected to run from approximately 8:30 a.m. 
to 3:00 p.m. EDT.  NASA TV is available on GE-2, Transponder 
9C at 85 degrees West longitude, vertical polarization, with 
a frequency of 3880 MHz, and audio of 6.8 MHz. The NASA TV
