subject: WHY THE BRACES?

Hi MATHIEU,
MATHIEU BOUCHARD was observed on 07-Sep-97, writing to ROGER SCUDDER
          Something about: WHY THE BRACES?
RS>> He may be referring to the fact that Windows code was notorious
RS>> for very long and difficult switch statements... In Windows 95
RS>> they have implemented special macros known as "message crackers"
MB> is this about event handling? i was under the impression that MS
MB> Windows used an OO event system, just like the X Window System and
MB> Java both use. Also, how is OS/2 PM programming compared to those
 MB> three?
(If I already replied to this message, I'm sorry. I lost
some unsaved messages and I think this was one of them.)
Yes it's about event handling.... but it's really C code
not C++. As for the other operating systems, you're asking
the wrong guy. I barely know anything about Windows 95
and nothing about those other GUI/systems.
