I think you make a good point. A lot of white people just automatically
consider themselves not "racist" or "prejudiced." Unless you are a Nazi, you
sits around and thinks about how racist they are?
However, racism is more than just a conscious belief in white supremacy.
Racism
is your attitude, how you interact with people, your politics, etc. And I
think
that's how society has changed from the 60s - then, you could watch racism on
your tv spelled right out for you in the form of a cop beating protesters.
Today, the media and everyone else acts like racism is very nearly a thing of
the past. I think it has gotten more subtle and more institutional, become a
part of social institutions like the job market, schools, the criminal
justice
system.
