SW> Transparent water??? Alright, was wondering when that

As Joe Siegler here says, Duke 3D 1.5 is it. Unless someone outside 3D
Realms decides to do some serious work on a patch (and gets the company's
permission), you won't see those features in Duke.
SW> I personally am waiting for Prey, if it is like the

SW> Or do you shy away from being to realistic?
It's even better than those pictures, because they've actually done some
real work on the game. Check out the Website (if you can) and you'll see
what I mean.
One of the biggest improvements to games Prey is supposed to bring is a
truly destructible enviroment. If you have the rockets, you can blast a
door, period, instead of hunting for the key to it.
Realism is important to me, just so long as it doesn't get in the way of
the game. A good example: the upcoming Tresspasser: Jurassic Park will have
super-real physics, AI and terrain. A bad example: Robinson's Requiem (and
its sequel, Deus) offer way too many ways to die, from hypothermia to
internal bleeding. It may be real, but it gets in the way of gaming.
SW> I am going to have to get a new computer now...Duke 3D
SW> runs slower then ever on my computer. The video
SW> doesn't work unless it is VGA graphics only, don't know
SW> why I have a Diamond Video card that has VESA 1.2

Get a new computer, period (preferrably a P200 MMX). You have a computer
slower than the requirements, and 8 MB of RAM does squat now. I currently
use a P120 with 32 MB of RAM (with a 4 MB 3D video card), and even then I'm
wanting to move up to an MMX system.
As for the video problem, you may want to get Display Doctor 5.3 (which
contains UniVBE 5.3). It offers more video modes, and (being a Display
Doctor) could potentially fix your problem.
