Hello Janis,
>>> that's where it all started...
>>> Or is that what you're all striving for?
>>> it is also likely that that is where it will end...
>> But first you'll have to drive all the users out of Fidonet.
>> Driving users out of zone 1 isn't enough. There are other zones
>> where they can still participate in Fidonet, as you have learned.
JK> I am happy to have users still calling my system.
I think Earl Croasmun has used, or may still be using, your system.
There may be others I am unaware of. But that is a positive, sysops
having users who actually use their systems (whether for messaging
or any other purpose).
JK> I have several "regulars"...
I am sure many have come and gone. Wayne Chirnside briefly used
for system, but dropped out of Fidonet shortly afterwards. Not
blaming you or anybody else. Just saying. Some are on again off
again users. Others act stupidly and have no business operating
a computer. One ingenious fellow actually participated in Fidonet
from a mental institution. Not quite sure how he managed to do
it, but he did. I don't think anybody has done so from inside
of a prison. But I could be wrong. Not all prisons are the same.
And this is a very big world we live in.
JK> and now and again a sysop will log onto my bbs as well.. works for me.
I recommended my cousin Luigi use your board so I hope you don't mind.
>> The attitude of those who sit atop zone 1 toward ordinary users
>> has long been plain as day. And every once in a while one of you
>> says something that reveals that low atitude of yours;
>> "...they are nothing to us and simply do not affect us."...Mark Lewis
JK> You don't affect us.. face the reality.
As nothing more than a nodelist clerk, you don't affect us either.
That is the reality. Whether you are willing to face it or not.
