Hello Russell -

RT>>> Just to report on my using GoldWave to "convert" a 16 2/3
RT>>> LP played at 33 1/3 speed to a state where it sounds,
RT>>> like it should, ie. replays at correct speed, well to the
RT>>> best of my knowledge it worked very well, unfortunately I
RT>>> don't have a 16 2/3's player to be able to compare what I
RT>>> have and how it sounded when played back as intended.

RT>>> Am happy with the results within reason.

CA>> If you like the sound of the recording that is 100% of the
CA>> best that can be done. ;-)

RT> I like the sound, tho I do wonder if the tempo is not just
RT> a wee - wee bit slow. :-)

I'm guessing that many professional recordings are 'off tempo'
a bit. At times for certain jazz muscians this was 'character'
or 'charisma' to alter tempo from start to finish at random. :-)

Even with the digital accuracy of MIDI formatted music files if
it doesn't sound the way I want it to I change the tempo and
right/wrong is not a concern. :-)

CA>> I am anxious to get my vinyl onto CDs before it is too
CA>> late. I've already lost a few Ventures albums to careless
CA>> handling and a Larry Adler album my daughters tell me
CA>> would cost $300 US to replace. :-\

RT> YOUCH !! $300 for a LP, all the more reason to look after
RT> them carefully.

Oh, I would never have paid that much for a record. I just
happened to like Larry Adler and my wife picked up the album
for me at the time. Probably under $20? It became valuable
after Adler's death and recognition as one of the 'greats'
(harmonica).
