Well that's 4/10 second.  With V42bis you normally get about 3/10
second, but basically it boils down to the same thing - you aren't
experiencing the problem with either MNP5 or V42bis.  Presumably
MNP4 would be the same as MNP5, although you could you try that
for completeness?

Hmmmm, I think what I need is for Jeff to call me without error
correction and see what effect that has.  It could be something
to do with his modem's MNP4 handling, or maybe even my modem in
conjunction with his.  BFN.  Paul.
