One can argue that it would depend on what one could live with.  But if you
need to access a particular server AND if that server is using MSCHAP, it
becomes a tough choice.

Arachne is a relatively recent program -- my copy of 1.70 -- is dated 2001
but it may not have been possible to test it with all the systems out
there.  And who's to say that the server was configured properly.  So why
worry?  I expect less from DOS freeware than I do from a program I paid
for.

But you got connected with Arachne and were then able to call the external
program.  Give the spider credit for something. :-)

You're running software where this is an occupational hazard.  You really
can't expect everything to work 'out of the box'.
