G'day Denise, Saturday September 21 1996 10:08, Denise Webber wrote to Gaelyne Gasson: GG>> The latest Mirc had these capabilities too, not that I could GG>> use them. I would definitely enjoy (er, I think ) a visit to ltuae_oz, so if someone can tell me which server to use, I'd make the effort to show up. DW> GG>> These are fairly tame... a good start. DW>> well lets not send em off to #boy_torture just yet GG>> Oh, YNOT? DW> DW> Weeeel unless thats their thing 8-) Actually I kinda enjoy doing the /whois stuff and finding out what OTHER channels a person is in. It can be very enlightning. GG>> You see more of the actual titles too... in IRC II you only GG>> get about 20 characters or so... and for some that isn't GG>> quite enough. DW> DW> You could end up in some reooly weird places 8-) No, coz you have to type in the exact name to join. Ever count "!!!!"'s? Not a lot of fun. I did find a clever way to find out the whole channel name though... by listing the names of the users in a wildcard fashion (ie, "!!*"), I could then do a /whois on someone in the channel and find out the whole name. (I liked that - it was like solving a puzzle). GG>> Then again... some I'd rather not see, and Mirc at least has GG>> that well in hand too. Pity IRC II doesn't because that's GG>> what I'm writing about currently. DW> DW> Yes, some titles dont leave much to the imagination. There are some that could make "sensitive" or even mildly human people vomit. :-( DW>> Yep. (ahem not that *I* would know about that) *grin* DW> GG>> Oh, you mean you were the one with the giant feather this GG>> weekend? ;-) DW> DW> Gee, I thought THAT was you... well well welll 8-) Musta been Den!!! He likes feathers. GG>> Good way to waste an hour or so too, but that's beside the GG>> point. DW> DW> Oh it's ALL time wasting but it's fun 8-) That's the whole point of fun, isn't it?
