Well #1...is the age when they can walk on their own...Carriages/strollers
are a real drawback when trying to cover a lot of territory. Also, by the
end of the day a lot of dads have little ones drooped over their shoulder.
#2, at the age when they can remember it. Ask around, most people don't
really remember anything ages 1-4....but at age 5 (the kindergarten age),
they usually have strong memories...
We brought our youngest at 5...he could walk on his own...and he (now 13)
has a very vivid memory of it. One of the good points of taking them when
they were on the young side...is you can go back when they are teenagers...
and things have probably just changed enough to make it interesting.
Also, the difference between going at age 5....and 14-15, they may be seeing
some of the same things....but they are taking it in differently.
