The CRP is apparently within Fidonet guidelines, AFAIK.

I may not be totally correct, but as I see it, the problem extends from the
number of systems wanting to connect directly to the hubs for echomail
feeds. Most systems appear to want to bypass normal links and move up the
ladder to get the mail quicker. As you could easily understand, the drain
on the resources of the hub links is pretty heavy and they can't handle
everybody polling them.

The 640 net has massive file feeds as well as echomail. When you consider
that people like me automatically receive 80-90% of all files uploaded to
Aminet via ADS (within days of release), you can imagine what all the Ibm
style file feeds drag in daily.

They are not want to give out echomail due to the fact that a lot of the
areas are not on the fidonet backbone in Australia - as stipulated by
whoever does that sort of thing down south - and thus cause massive dupe
loops of echo's when sysops get it wrong :)

Anyway, I suppose none of this has helped you - it's just a mere users viewpoint :)

Cheers, __
