| Interested in knowing if the people using this echo are also old school bbs | users that miss the good ol' days of technology when not so many people had | access to it. It was like a true community back then. +-[MR=>All] I still run the same BBS software I did when I first started (1988) and I still offer dial-up. I added telnet a few years ago as well. It has been online as a public dial-up system since 1989. I lived in Louisville back then, and the BBS scene was thriving. There were the long-time boards that always seemed to be around, and then there were always the ones that appeared and disappeared almost as quickly. By the time I moved in 1997, there were not near as many left. I was surprised a couple of years ago to realize all the old boards I knew then are completely gone. I had actually inquired about a dial-up BBS list for the Louisville area, and was told there were none. That was probably 3 or 4 years ago. :( I can remember the thrill of watching people log on. That sort of lessened after a while. It would actually be a thrill now, since it happens so less-often, but it seems that most users are online late at night, long after I have retired for the evening. ;-) Mike ##MMR 2.61(beta). !link MR 10-23-09 23:23 --- GTMail 1.26* Origin: Capitol City Online * 502/875-8938 * cco.ath.cx (1:2320/105.0) SEEN-BY: 10/1 11/200 331 14/250 34/999 120/228 128/2 187 140/1 222/2 226/0 SEEN-BY: 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/104 260 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 SEEN-BY: 801/189 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 5030/1256 @PATH: 2320/105 261/38 633/260 267 |
