I've tested old ones to 550 lbs with no hint of trouble. I've even taken
dints out by rotating so that there is a pocket of air at the dint (tank is
filled with water of course!) and then heating carefully while under
pressure. When done, you'd never know there had been a bump. Any old frig
compressor still in good shape will develop 500 - 600 lbs and 25-26 inches of
vacuum. Fill the test tank with water, connect the outlet of the little
compressor and in seconds you test is complete!

Cinderblock or concrete of course. ;-)

It is but you've got the wrong guy! Done a lot of foolish things and had a
few close calls, but nothing related to vapors.

Ain't no fun in being/getting old, that is but unless you've got a good
reason to shorten the process?
