... you're right. But actually, this is more or less impossible. HPFS is
ONLY supported on type 5 "fixed disk" medias. Furthermore without
LOCKDRV, the Syquest is mounted as "super disk" not as a
partitionable device. And HPFS can only exist on a partitionable device.

Not completely correct. With DosShutdown(1L) is can flush the DATA caches.
But sometimes the CDI-caches (directory structure) remains unflushed. IMHO
FS_UNMOUNT and FS_FLUSH are lacking from the IFS-interface.
