That's what my parents did with me --and not just for small things, but
major things (i.e: not leaving a note when taking a walk --I got grounded
for a month for that!).  After one spanking from Dad, however, I learned
to listen for a *certain tone of voice*, and act QUICK when he used it!
Now that I'm an adult, I'm learning, with help from my therapist, to
overcome some of the fear that I've had with it..... but at the time,
I deserved the spanking.  :/  :>
