| subject: | We Want 32-Bit Vio ! |
PP> > That is, KEY/MOU/VIO will never be 32-bit [...] PP> This was the original intention, back in the OS/2 2.0 days. However ... 32-bit KBD, VIO, and MOU APIs are part of PowerPC OS/2, and there is a beta release of 32-bit VIO for Intel OS/2 somewhere on the DevCon CD-ROMs. The 32-bit code is there. I have no idea why it has not yet been released for Intel OS/2, although I suspect it is because programmers who desire such a thing simply haven't made enough noise in the right ears (try the developer support areas on CompuServe, or the IBM CFORA). > JdeBP < ___ X MegaMail 2.10 #0: --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: DoNoR/2,Woking UK (44-1483-725167) (2:440/4) SEEN-BY: 50/99 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 517 628 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 440/4 141/209 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
