Michiel, your 'perception' has always been what you want to believe to
support ¨your point.  You'd twist Asia to a christian land group if it
suited you.  ¨Afterall, there are a few of them too here.

¨that idea.

Islam is well respected here.  It's not considered odd or a problem.  It
lives ¨happily side by side with buddism, shinto, and a host of others of
which ¨christian is a small but accepted one.
