Hi Joe, > It all comes down to "what is the > lowest common denominator, for the operation as stated in the Nodelist"... JD> Not here in Zone 1. it is now 000-0-0-0-0. The Telephone number field in the Nodelist is the SAME field for ALL Zones, IE by design it is recognised by Fidonet S/W as a PSTN Telephone number. If something else is represented there then there is NOTHING stopping that value being interpreted by a Node as if it was a Telephone number and attempt to dial it. As it happens, even Fidonet is not happy with a Node listing an "invalid" phone number, let alone an invalid IP address. The reality of this situation is that a different "convention" implemented by ONE zone does not stop other Zones attempting to interpret it as a (invalid) Telephone No. Cheers...........pk. --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: === Maxie BBS.
