Replying to a message of Janis Kracht to Bob Ackley: >>> If it makes you feel any better I had cancer surgery on November >>> 1st... and have been battling my work's short term disability >>> insurance to get paid. >> I had (prostate) cancer surgery on November 7th - of 1995, was off work >> for a month, and on light duty for a month after that. JK> Glad to hear you're over that, Bob! Still get tested for it every year, and every year the lab says my PSA is 'not detectable within the limits of the test.' They won't say 'zero.' I can still develop cancer, just not *that* one. What's sad is that the husband of a then co-worker died of prostate cancer about a year and a half after my surgery. We were about the same age (50), but AFAIK he had never been tested for it. The only reason I got tested is the hospital was giving away *free* screenings and that was (and is) in my price range; and, of course, the test caught the problem. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/300 34/999 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 222/2 SEEN-BY: 226/0 236/150 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 393/11 633/104 260 262 267 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 SEEN-BY: 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
