Replying to a message of Janis Kracht to Bob Ackley:

JK> Glad to hear you're over that, Bob!

Still get tested for it every year, and every year the lab says my PSA is 'not
detectable within the limits of the test.' They won't say 'zero.' I can still
develop cancer, just not *that* one.

What's sad is that the husband of a then co-worker died of prostate cancer about
a year and a half after my surgery. We were about the same age (50), but AFAIK
he had never been tested for it. The only reason I got tested is the hospital was
giving away *free* screenings and that was (and is) in my price range; and, of
course, the test caught the problem.
