Sorry but I've not run Windows NT 4.0 in years. I wouldn't be too =
surprised if there was some interaction since in Windows NT 4.0 name =
resolution and authentication is much more limited than Windows 2000 or =
later. Try with Windows 2000 Server.

On NT4 server, in the IIS configuration on the directory security tab
Authentication control you disable anonymous and basic leaving only =
Windows
NT challenge response (NTLM and NTLM2) and you then try to login to =
your
website using frontpage from an NT client machine it works fine (it =
fails
for win95). If you then unbind netbios, logins from the NT client fail =
and
you can't login again until you allow basic auth (clear text) at which =
point
both the NT and Win95 frontpage clients can login.

I have no idea what you mean. FrontPage or the FPSE? I've used =
both on
systems with NetBIOS over TCP/IP disabled and never noticed an auth
difference.

Then why does frontpage switch to clear text if you disable Netbios?
